The raw sewage is received by gravity at the inlet works where it is screened and de-gritted using manual screen & Detritor mechanism for removal of large sized particles & grit. Screened & de-gritted sewage is then taken to an aeration tank designed on “extended aeration process” basis. The aeration tank is equipped with surface aerators. The effluent then proceeds to the secondary clarifier for sludge settling and clarification of sewage. Dewatering of the excess sludge is achieved in sludge drying beds. The treated effluent from clarifier is discharged into the treated effluent channel. A provision has also been made to pump this treated sewage for use as irrigation water. |
