PROMOTERS
A brief technical background of our
three Directors who have promoted this venture:
M. Sengupta
Director
Mr. M. Sengupta is a Graduate Engineer from Jadavpur
University of 1967 batch and carried the responsibility on
his shoulder for design and executing the electrical and instrumentation
for all the jobs undertaken by the company. This field particularly
always received very high appreciation from the clients and
consultants. Before reaching this stage, he was responsible
for implementing and commissioning an Ore Benefication Plant
for TISCO in association with an American turnkey contractor.
The turnkey project comprised of sub station, HT & LT
transmission & distribution systems, standby diesel power
generators and plant electrical. The plant was maintained
for 5 years by him, before taking the charge of all engineering
activities of the first open cast copper mine of India for
M/s. Hindustan Copper Limited. On completion of engineering
activities, he took up the responsibility of Chief Engineer
(Elect/Mech) for Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals Ltd.,
Udaipur and planned the entire modernisation activities, erections
and simultaneously operation & maintenance. Just before
working for BAPL he has worked for Ministry of Communications,
Federal Republic of Nigeria, heading the project division
for five years.
He is responsible for design, procurement, installation, testing
& commissioning of all electrical, control & instrumentation
and mechanical systems of various turnkey projects of sewage,
effluent, water treatment plants and material handling plants,
pumping stations to the full satisfaction of different clients
and consultants such as TCE/PDIL/EIL/Serck Baker of UK/Esmil,
UK/ Technopromexport of USSR, UTB of Switzerland, MHI of Japan
etc. involving PLC/DCS/ etc. Widely traveled abroad in connection
with the aforesaid jobs.
As one of the promoting Director SMS Paryavaran
ltd.; he is responsible for execution of the various project,
specifically E & M aspects of the project, from concept
to commissioning. Company experience as per list of works
may be attributed to him.
S.N. Modak
Director
Mr. S.N. Modak is a First class first graduate
engineer in Civil Engineering from one of the premier Institute
of India, Birla Institute of Technology and Science at Pilani,
of 1975 batch. Over the last 30 years he has been responsible
for procurement of all types of projects for the company out
of which last 9 years he was responsible for implementing
the projects to the satisfaction of clients and within the
planned budget. The cash flow management for the projects
was always part of the job. By adopting the modern techniques
such as PERT as well as making use of friendly computers he
had seen the projects through till their completion. Floating
inquiries, tender discussions, order placements, planning
the resources, technical discussions and arranging necessary
indigenous/ foreign collaborations, project management were
some of the responsibilities assigned to him. Travelled a
lot in India & abroad creating relationships and liaison
with companies such as NKK, Toyo, NKKK, Tone of Japan, Spie-Capag
of France, UTB, Vanroll of Switzerland, Sir William Halcrow,W.S.Atkins
Paterson, Serck Baker, Esmil, Hanab Stevin, Mass Transfer
Etapack of U.K., Volker Stevin of Netherlands, ESI of USA
etc.
As one of the promoting Director of SMS Paryavaran ltd.; he is responsible for marketing & execution of the various project, specifically civil aspects of the project, from concept to commissioning. Company experience as per list of works may be attributed to him.
M.K. Singh
Director
Mr. M.K. Singh is a Post Graduate in Environmental
Engineering from IIT Bombay (1980 batch) & B.E. also in
Environmental from IIT Roorkee (formally known as University
of Roorkee, 1978 batch), and has the experience of working
with M/s. HGE (Batliboi group) and M/s. Jog Consultants, Pune
before stabilizing his career with M/s. BAPL. With his admirable
process knowledge BAPL had executed number of projects &
commissioned them successfully, committing guarantees worth
several crores for the plant performance. In fact his exposure
to the various technologies available worldwide is so much
dependable that his word is treated as Authority by us. His
knowledge and the designing capabilities have earned a good
name with European consultants such as M/s. Serck Baker of
UK, M/s. UTB of Switzerland etc. and indigenously with M/s.
EIL/Toyo/PDIL etc. Various ETP such as sugar, paper, tannery,
meat, combined effluent of different industries & sewage
including reuse with UTB Switzerland for eastern European
block at Kishinev Maldevia erstwhile USSR.
He has been responsible for Design & detailed engineering including GA drgs., equipment procurement etc. of various schemes/ treatment plants, the prestigious ones are 40MGD STP at Rithala, Delhi; 7.2MLD ETP at Digboi; 10MGD STP at Vasantkunj, Delhi; 25MGD STP at Kondli, Delhi; 22 MLD STP based on UASB process at Nasik for NMC; 12 MLD STP based on UASB process at Indore for PHED, MP; 8 MLD STP at Rewari, based on FAB process for PHED Haryana. Apart from the above, there are many STPs executed on his designs. Similarly, major WTPs to his credit are 100 MLD WTP for UPJN; 80MLD WTP at Solapur, 19 MLD Chikhali, for MWSSB/MJP; 1150KLH WTP at Sriganganagar for PHED Rajsthan; 45 MLD WTP at Changlapalam, Mevelloor, Kerala for KWA; 54 MLD WTP with 8@250HP pumping plant at Kalyan for KDMC; 100 MLD WTP at Pune Cantt. for PMC; 16 MLD WTP at Dehu Road, Pune for Cantt. Board; 16.5 MLD WTP (tube settler type) at Sirsi town for KUIDFC, Karnatka.
Other than water & sewage system, his major contribution in the field of Effluent/ waste water Treatment Plants are 7.2 MLD ETP of IOCL Refinery at Digboi comprising of API separators, equalisation, trickling filter, step aeration system, lagoons & SDBs; 4 MLD ETP at GHP, IOCL Baroda including API, CPI, aeration, trickling filter, filtration, Chlorination sludge handling; 16.8 MLD ETP at LPG/CPU Uran, ONGC including CPI, Plastic media Biotowers, PLC design Pressure filters & centrifuge; 2 MLD ETP at oil field Mehsana Gujarat for ONGC including discoil separator, clariflocculator, pressure filters, subsoil injection & fire fighting system etc.; 3.84 MLD ETP for Floor Wash effluent at HPCL Mahul Bombay including of CPI/TPI,TPF, step aeration, lagoon, centrifuge; 4.8 MLD Ballast Water TP at Oil Jetty, Haldia for CPT, including CPI/TPI,BW storage tank, DAF slop oil tank etc.; 13.6 MLD CETP at Wazirpur Delhi including transmitting effluent/ influent, equalisation, clariflocculator, lagoon; 150 m3/d Dairy ETP for Punjab Milkfed at MCC, Ferozpur; 900 m3/d Dairy ETP based on UASB process at Ludhiana of Punjab Milkfed; 3 m3/d ETP/ STP at IIT Delhi campus as `COMPAC' plant; 1.5 MLD ETP cum Recycle plant at Cantonment board, Ambala; 675m3/d CETP at Kakkancherry, Calicut Kerala for KINFRA.
